Basketball Recap: Williamson Comes Up Short

Williamson was the 28-25 winner over Wellsboro when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Williamson Warriors fell to the Wellsboro Hornets 51-47. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Williamson still got an impressive performance from Kenna Thomas, who went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points and four blocks. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Meisner, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Williamson's record now sits at 4-7. As for Wellsboro, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Williamson will be playing in front of their home fans against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wellsboro, they will venture away from home to challenge Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Troy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
