Recap: Oakwood Owls vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Oakwood Owls had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 48-42 W over Serra on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but Oakwood sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaicia Snelson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Snelson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Carter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Oakwood pushed their record up to 20-5 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Serra, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Oakwood will square off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Heritage has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Serra does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
