Lane Tech entered their tilt with Von Steuben on Thursday with 25 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 26. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 15-3 victory back in April.

Lane Tech got a great performance from Charles Lust as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Lust has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lane Tech saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Young, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Tanner Toback was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Lane Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Von Steuben only posted a batting average of .167.

Lane Tech's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Von Steuben, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-13-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lane Tech will host St. Rita at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Von Steuben, they will take on St. Patrick at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
