Softball Recap: Scotland County Takes a Loss

Scotland County couldn't beat Highland on Monday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the second inning. The Tigers lost 22-11 to the Cougars. The Tigers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Kenzington Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Frederick, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Scotland County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Highland, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Coming up, Scotland County will welcome Novinger at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
