Softball Recap: Madison County Comes Up Short

If Madison County was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Cedar Shoals on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Walnut Grove Warriors by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Madison County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Walnut Grove, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Madison County will be playing in front of their home fans against North Oconee at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walnut Grove, they will head out to square off against Buford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 0.5 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
