Monroe Area extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Douglass. They never let the Astros get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Considering the Purple Hurricanes have won 13 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Monroe Area is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Douglass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-7.
