Football Game Preview: Woodbury Royals vs. Mounds View Mustangs

The Woodbury Royals will challenge the Mounds View Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Woodbury took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 victory over Stillwater.

Meanwhile, Mounds View got themselves on the board against East Ridge on Friday, but East Ridge never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Raptors. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Mustangs were the (much) better team in the second half.

Woodbury now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mounds View, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Woodbury took a serious blow against Mounds View in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 50-7. Thankfully for the Royals, Jacob Sampson (who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
