Softball Game Preview: Akron-Westfield Westerners vs. George-Little Rock Mustangs

The Akron-Westfield Westerners will square off against the George-Little Rock Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Akron-Westfield is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering West Lyon just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Westerners have suffered since May 25, 2024.

Meanwhile, George-Little Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union.

Akron-Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for George-Little Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Akron-Westfield took their victory against George-Little Rock in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Westerners repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
