Football Recap: Republic County Starts off Right with Win over Troy

Republic County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Troy Trojans with a 34-28 win. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Buffaloes were the better team in the second half.

Republic County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Owen Harms, Aden Morris, Nickolas Kendall, and Farmer Snapp picked up one apiece.

Looking ahead, Republic County will take on Ellsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Troy, they will challenge McLouth on Friday. The matchup will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
