Basketball Recap: Clairemont Takes a Loss

Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Kearny Komets 53-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Komets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-12 back in January.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Kearny, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.

Clairemont and Kearny could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Clairemont will challenge Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 817 places (1343 vs. 526). Meanwhile, Kearny (ranked 918th) will meet Lincoln (ranked 99th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
