Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Classical vs. Pinecrest Academy Paladins

Trinity Classical will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Pinecrest Academy Paladins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Classical comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Trinity Classical came up short against North Georgia HomeSchool last Tuesday, falling 18-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pinecrest Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Hearts Academy with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Paladins, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mathew Sime made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Liam McCavitt was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Lucas Miles also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pinecrest Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hearts Academy only posted a batting average of .188.

Pinecrest Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Classical, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
