After a string of seven wins, Veterans's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Houston County Bears by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Warhawks couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of David Drake, who's now up to 11 this season.

Veterans' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Houston County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veterans will head out to face off against Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston County, they will venture away from home to challenge Thomas County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
