Preview: Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans vs. Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs
Rio Lindo Adventist is 8-2 against Summerfield Waldorf since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans will square off against the Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rio Lindo Adventist waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Trinity Prep with points to spare, taking the game 41-22.
Chitalu Munanga was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaia Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Summerfield Waldorf scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy 62-12 on the road. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Rio Lindo Adventist is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Summerfield Waldorf, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Rio Lindo Adventist beat Summerfield Waldorf 36-24 in their previous matchup last Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Lindo Adventist since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
