Football Recap: Newton Falls Short of Westwood in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newton can now relate to. They took a 33-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westwood Cardinals on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Cardinals are ranked 45th).

This is the second loss in a row for Newton and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Westwood, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

As of now, neither Newton nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
