Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Cabrillo's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Cabrillo had won two straight road games and Sophia Austin did her part to make it three on Friday. The Cabrillo Conquistadores blew past the Paso Robles Bearcats 55-29 thanks in part to Austin, who went 9 for 14 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyn Hughes, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Cabrillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Paso Robles, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Cabrillo will take on Santa Ynez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Ynez will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cabrillo surely won't give up without a fight. Paso Robles has already played their next game (against Lompoc), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
