Basketball Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Has No Trouble Against Hesperia

With a playoff win on the line, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary rose to the challenge on Thursday. They strolled past the Hesperia Scorpions with points to spare, taking the game 52-35.

Hesperia's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jocelyne Lerma, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 10 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Paris Leonard, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Hesperia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.
