Basketball Recap: Crenshaw Drops Season-High Score on GALA

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crenshaw). They breezed by the GALA Goddesses to the tune of 78-30 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Crenshaw was led to victory by Jada Kindle and Jaida Floyd. Kindle dropped a double-double on 31 points and 22 boards, while Floyd went 7 of 14 en route to 22 points along with six assists and five steals. The contest was Kindle's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Talita Robinson, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

GALA lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Leland Holleman, who had 13 points. Amol Varma was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Crenshaw is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for GALA, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Crenshaw wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-44 loss against George Washington Prep on the 29th. GALA has also already played their next contest, a 67-27 defeat against King/Drew on the 29th.
