Oxford has gone a perfect 10-0 against Derby recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Oxford is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Woodland Regional just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Woodland Regional hit Derby with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders lost 11-1 to the Hawks.

Vincent Nuzzo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Derby, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Oxford got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Derby by a conclusive 17-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
