Basketball Recap: Southern Fulton Triumphs

Everett came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Southern Fulton, but Claire Harvey wouldn't allow it. The Southern Fulton Indians walked away with a 56-48 win over the Everett Warriors on Wednesday thanks in part to Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Southern Fulton's points.

Another player making a difference was Mae Hoopengardner, who posted six points in addition to 11 blocks and seven rebounds. She has become a key player for Southern Fulton: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least three blocks, but 3-6 otherwise.

Everett lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lyla Levy, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Levy a new career-high. Addison Wood was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Southern Fulton's record is now 7-8. As for Everett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Fulton will head out to take on Claysburg-Kimmel at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Everett, they will venture away from home to challenge Northern Bedford County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
