Basketball Recap: Red Bluff Comes Up Short

Red Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 56-42 fall against the Weed Cougars. The Spartans were probably out for revenge after losing 44-32 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Weed found their leader in sophomore Riley Dawson, who went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dawson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Bivens, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points.

Red Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Weed, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Red Bluff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-44 win against Burney on the 2nd. As for Weed, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-24 victory against Redding Christian on the 2nd.
