Football Recap: Manhattan Finds Playoff Glory Versus Southeast

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Manhattan walked away with it. They breezed past the Southeast Golden Buffalo to the tune of 45-6 on Friday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manhattan to victory, but perhaps none more so than EJ Massenburg, who rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Manhattan's run defense was locked in: Southeast could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Caleb Manwarren for the heroic effort on defense: he. Manhattan didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.7.

Manhattan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games. As for Southeast, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Manhattan will square off against Maize at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
