Softball Recap: Yutan-Mead Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Yutan-Mead won against Cass on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Patriots blew past the Mercy Monarchs 10-4. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Beth Brennan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Trent, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Yutan-Mead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in three consecutive games.

Yutan-Mead's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Mercy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
