Soccer Game Preview: Half Moon Bay vs. Carlmont

Half Moon Bay hasn't had much luck against Carlmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Half Moon Bay Cougars will challenge the Carlmont Scots at 4:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Half Moon Bay challenged Terra Nova on Tuesday. Half Moon Bay lost 5-0 to Terra Nova.

Meanwhile, Carlmont came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bearcats onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Scots have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlmont pushed their record up to 10-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Half Moon Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-3.

Half Moon Bay might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Carlmont when the teams last played on January 14th. Can Half Moon Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
