Middletown lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Coginchaug Regional, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Blue Dragons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Blue Devils an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Blue Dragons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 15-6).

Middletown moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Coginchaug Regional, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Middletown will square off against Goodwin RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gladiators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Blue Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coginchaug Regional, they will take on Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Phoenix have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
