Soccer Game Preview: Towns County vs. Treutlen

The Towns County Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Treutlen Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Towns County will be strutting in after a victory while Treutlen will be coming in after a loss.

Towns County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by five) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Banks County 2-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Towns County's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Banks County are ranked 409th).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Treutlen's offense. They came up short against Dooly County last Friday, falling 9-0. The defeat continues a trend for Treutlen in their meetings with Dooly County: they've now lost three in a row.

Towns County pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those six contests. As for Treutlen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
