Baseball Game Preview: Amherst Falcons vs. Bonduel Bears

The Amherst Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Bonduel Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amherst is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Amherst barely beat Weyauwega-Fremont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warhawks an 8-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not much got past Daniel Juarez, who gave up just a hit to keep Weyauwega-Fremont off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Levi Cullen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Glodowski, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bonduel was able to grind out a solid win over Manawa on Monday, taking the game 10-5. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Bonduel's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Amherst, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Amherst skirted past Bonduel 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
