Softball Recap: Hastings Wins Going Away Against York

Hastings never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the York Dukes with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

BROOKE OCHSNER was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, HADYN LAUX was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. PYPER WITTE was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Hastings hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Hastings' record now sits at 21-8. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 19-13.

As of now, neither Hastings nor the Dukes have any future games scheduled.
