Softball Recap: Oilton Beats Mason for Their Second Straight Win + How To Watch

Oilton barely beat Mason the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 9-0 shutout on Monday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Paydee Smith's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Oilton got a big performance out of D Kennedy, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Kennedy a new career-high. Je Cox also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Oilton and bumps their season record up to 13-11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Mason, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oilton will take on Bluejacket at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mason, they will be playing at home against Olive at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
