After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frederick, Fairview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Wheat Ridge Farmers. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 17-7 victory the Farmers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Kate McCall was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. McCall was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Julia Savage was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Fairview moved to 7-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Wheat Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-1 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will face off against Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
