Softball Recap: McDonough Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous four match, McDonough brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Stockbridge Tigers on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-8 victory. The Warhawks not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 6, 2024 (when they won 40-25).

McDonough got a massive performance out of Ma'Kaylah Hull, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Hull a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylei Buffington, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

McDonough always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

McDonough's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Stockbridge, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. McDonough is set to face off against their familiar foe Union Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Stockbridge will take on rival Locust Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
