Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Springs Cougars vs. Tustin Tillers

The Canyon Springs Cougars will face off against the Tustin Tillers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Canyon Springs came up short against Hemet and fell 50-41.

Despite the loss, Canyon Springs had strong showings from Kaleayah Marshall, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Izabella Tejada, who posted 11 points along with eight assists and seven boards. Marshall has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Canyon Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 45 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Tustin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three last Monday. They walked away with a 34-23 victory over the Indians.

Canyon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Tustin, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
