Baseball Recap: Martin Comes Up Short

Martin extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 9-7. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marcellus Wildcats. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Marcellus, they pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Marcellus' part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abram Coffey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

While Martin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
