Basketball Recap: Gompers Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Gompers Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayfront Charter Sharks. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

Gompers Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bayfront Charter, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Gompers Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Liberty Charter on Monday. Gompers Prep Academy is facing Liberty Charter at the right time seeing as Liberty Charter is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Bayfront Charter and Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bayfront Charter's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.
