Recap: Morse Tigers vs. Olympian Eagles
The Morse Tigers are still undefeated this season after their match against the Olympian Eagles on Friday, but the Olympian Eagles came as close as anyone has to beating them. Morse sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over Olympian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayla White, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which White has scored at least 25% of Morse's points. Yasmine Zufri was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Olympian had strong showings from Asia Darcuiel, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals, and Alyssa Agpaoa, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Lewis, who scored 6 points.
Morse has yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Olympian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morse will take on University City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
