Soccer Game Preview: Cass vs. Cartersville

The Cass Colonels will venture away from home to take on the Cartersville Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cartersville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cass, who comes in off a win.

Cass proved they can win big on Friday (they won by five) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Southeast Whitfield County get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Cartersville lost 7-1 to Allatoona on Tuesday. The Hurricanes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

This is the second loss in a row for Cartersville and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Cass, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Cass was able to grind out a solid victory over Cartersville when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cass since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
