Baseball Recap: Cohasset Gets the Win

Cohasset proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Dedham Marauders 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in April.

Austin Soderberg was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Cohasset is 2-1 when Soderberg posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise.

Cohasset has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dedham, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cohasset will welcome Carver at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Dedham, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Norwood at 4:00 p.m.
