Preview: Canton Warriors vs. Troy Trojans
The Canton Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Troy Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Canton was able to grind out a solid victory over Addison, taking the game 30-21.
Canton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cailyn Van Noy, who scored 11 points, and Kendall Kitchen, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Daveian Crowley, who scored 3 points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Troy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down Northeast Bradford 59-43.
Troy can attribute much of their success to Kailyn Sterling, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alyssa Parks was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
The victory got Canton back to even at 1-1. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Canton couldn't quite finish off Troy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 33-31. Can Canton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
