Softball Recap: Norfolk Takes a Loss

Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Standing Bear Grizzlies. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grizzlies earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Liberty Nohr was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Claire Hopkins also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Standing Bear, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12.

Norfolk didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Columbus on the 27th. As for Standing Bear, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Skutt Catholic on the 27th.
