Basketball Recap: Shalom Christian Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Shalom Christian Academy's strategy against Fairfield on Thursday. Everything went the Shalom Christian Academy Flames' way against the Fairfield Knights as the Shalom Christian Academy Flames made off with a 48-22 win. Given the Flames' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Knights are ranked 654th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shalom Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Adams led the charge by going 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Lehman, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Shalom Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Fairfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Shalom Christian Academy will challenge McConnellsburg at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-33 defeat against York County Tech on the 10th.
