Football Recap: Blue Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Two + How To Watch

If Polk County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Blue Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Gavin Forrester. The Fighting Tigers enjoyed a cozy 35-19 victory over the Wolverines on Friday thanks in part to Forrester, who rushed for 105 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Blue Ridge, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mitch Bobbitt, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Polk County still got an impressive performance from Loreynzo Sanchez, who rushed for 293 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Sanchez is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season.

Blue Ridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 30.5 points this season. As for Polk County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Blue Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 56-21 loss against Eastside on the 12th. As for Polk County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-14 victory against Patton on the 12th.
