Basketball Recap: Oxford Academy Piles Up the Points Against Glenn

Oxford Academy entered their tilt with Glenn on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Glenn Eagles 73-7. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Eagles are ranked 1221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oxford Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Noble, who went 12 for 19 en route to 26 points along with six assists and six boards. The dominant performance gave Noble a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Ashley Ventura, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists.

Oxford Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Oxford Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Glenn, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Oxford Academy will head out to take on Pioneer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norwalk at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
