Soccer Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon lost to Pleasant Grove back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Huskies lost 5-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Sheldon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 561st, while Pleasant Grove are ranked 75th).

Sheldon was without their leading scorer, Shawnjai Barron-Hutchings, in Monday's match. With Barron-Hutchings sitting this one out, Jordyn Hultgren got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 41.4).

Sheldon now has a losing record of 6-7-2. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-4-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sheldon will face off against rival Laguna Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove is set to take on their familiar foe Monterey Trail at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
