Baseball Recap: Buchholz Beats Silverdale Academy for Their 16th Straight Win

Buchholz put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Silverdale Academy Seahawks get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly four runs.

Buchholz got a great performance from Dion Wilborn as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. What's more, Wilborn gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last four games.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Roen Kresak, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedaris Smith, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Buchholz's record now sits at 16-0. As for Silverdale Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buchholz will welcome North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Silverdale Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Boyd-Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. The contest will give Boyd-Buchanan their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
