Football Game Preview: Malvern Prep Friars vs. Gonzaga Eagles

The Malvern Prep Friars will take on the Gonzaga Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Malvern Prep comes in on three and Gonzaga on four.

Malvern Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Salesianum, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Malvern Prep was ranked third). The Friars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sallies on Friday, sneaking past 17-14.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga humbled Archbishop Carroll with a 42-7 victory. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Gonzaga's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Malvern Prep, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Malvern Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gonzaga in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 13-7 victory. Will the Friars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
