Moapa Valley is 9-1 against Boulder City since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Moapa Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Moapa Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past The Meadows School to the tune of 59-6 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won three games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Moapa Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Rawson, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 39 yards and one TD. Rawson got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 58 yards. Briggs Hickman was another key rusher, rushing for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Moapa Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Moapa Valley's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Tag Jensen was especially locked on to The Meadows School's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Boulder City waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Blue Knights 30-14. The score was all tied up 8-8 at the break, but the Eagles were the (much) better team in the second half.
Boulder City's win came from a few key players Moapa Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Francis Mariani, who threw for 165 yards and three TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played.
The victory got Moapa Valley back to even at 3-3. As for Boulder City, their record is now 4-2.
Everything came up roses for Moapa Valley against Boulder City in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-6 win. In that matchup, the Pirates amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
