Softball Recap: Gretna Triumphs

Gretna won the last time they faced Standing Bear and things went their way on Monday too. The Dragons came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

The team relied heavily on Maddie Kurrus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Megan Marshall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Standing Bear, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Gretna will venture away from home to face off against Waverly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Standing Bear, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pius X at 6:30 p.m.
