Lafayette took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Trenton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Tigers 4-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won 12 matchups in a row.

Lafayette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Trevor Byrd was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Trenton, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-4.
