Recap: Truckee Wolverines vs. Sparks Railroaders
The Truckee Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Sparks at home by a decisive 42-28 margin. Truckee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sparks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Truckee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sophia Killian, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Bayla Abraham, who scored six points.
Sparks' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrea Nicole Domingo, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Domingo has scored all season. Erica Tagulao was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Truckee's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Sparks, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.
Truckee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hug at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hug is on a three-game streak of home losses, Truckee a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Sparks, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Wednesday.
