Softball Game Preview: Chattooga Indians vs. Mt. Zion Eagles

Chattooga is a perfect 3-0 against Mt. Zion since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Chattooga needed a bit of extra time to put away Gilmer. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats, sneaking past 4-3.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Douglas County get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Chattooga now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mt. Zion, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Chattooga's way against Mt. Zion in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Chattooga made off with a 13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
