Football Game Preview: Hayfield Vikings vs. Southland Rebels

The Hayfield Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Southland Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayfield has given up an average of 36.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hayfield is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They were beaten by Lewiston-Altura 47-0.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Southland, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They secured a 28-22 W over United South Central/Genesis Classical Academy on Friday.

Southland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.5 points over those games. As for Hayfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Hayfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Southland when the teams last played back in October of 2016, sneaking past 26-23. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
